SRI LANKAN TOURS AND HOLIDAYS - Terms and Conditions

  • Please take the time to read and understand the Terms and Conditions of Travel set out below before confirming your reservation with Sri Lankan Tours and Holidays. You should read and understand the specific health and fitness requirements for each tour you intend to undertake.

  • 1. The agreement

  • All bookings are made with Sri Lankan Tours and Holidays (ABN 30 428 012 729 ). When booking a tour, you agree to read and accept these Terms and Conditions. The information presented in our brochures, website, or emails is correct to the best of our knowledge at the time of publication. However, changes beyond our control may have occurred concerning prices, itineraries, duration, and tour content. Surcharges may apply.
  • 2. Validity

  • Dates, itineraries, transfers and prices are valid from 01 March 2021 until 28 February 2034. All prices are in United States Dollars.

  • 3. Payment policy

  • -To confirm your tour reservation with Sri Lankan Tours and Holidays for multi-day tours, a non-refundable 30% deposit is required when booking. The remaining balance is due no later than 60 days before departure. All bookings made less than 60 days before departure must be paid for in full at the time of booking.

  • -The total payment is required when booking to confirm your tour reservation with Sri Lankan Tours and Holidays.

  • Sri Lankan Tours and Holidays reserves the right to resell seats without warning if you fail to finalise payment within the prescribed times.

  • 4. Cancellation by you

  • Tour cancellation by you

  • Due to the extensive planning and costs associated with touring, the following cancellation fees will apply in the event you should cancel for any reason. Cancellations must be advised in writing.
  • • 60+ days before departure – 30% of the total tour price.
  • • 31 - 60 days before departure – 50% of the total tour price. • 0 - 30 days before departure – 100% of the tour price.

  • Sri Lankan Tours and Holidays will offer a one-time fee-free change for a reservation to change to a voucher. The voucher is valid for 12 months from your scheduled tour or transfer date. Re-booking is subject to availability. Changes must be made at least 30 days before travel, or standard cancellation policies will apply.

  • 5. Cancellation by Alice Sri Lankan Tours and Holidays

  • Safety is our priority, and Sri Lankan Tours and Holidays may sometimes have to cancel a tour or service due to safety concerns. If we have to cancel, every effort will be made to offer a suitable alternative. If the alternative is unsuitable, Sri Lankan Tours and Holidays will fully refund your tour price.

  • Sri Lankan Tours and Holidays reserves the right to cancel a tour, arrange an alternative operator (if possible) if group numbers are insufficient, or combine tours of differing standards if low numbers endanger a scheduled departure being cancelled. In this instance, guests will constantly be upgraded to a higher standard product. Guests travelling on tour with upgraded guests will not be entitled to refunds in these instances. Sri Lankan Tours and Holidays reserves the right to have multi-level pricing on products where it is necessary to ensure guests' travel plans are not disrupted.

  • 6. Booking amendments

  • Due to the complexity, staff time and communication costs of the booking process, the following amendment charges will apply for tours ;

  • 0 - 30 days before departure – 100% of the tour price.
  • 31 + days before departure – 30% of the total tour price.

  • 7. Reconfirming your tour/ transfers

  • If your pick-up place changes, passengers must reconfirm their pick-up location; please write to reservations@srilankantours.com.au. If reconfirmation is not made, Sri Lankan Tours and Holidays will not be held responsible for any costs incurred due to changes in pick-up details.

  • 8. Privacy policy

  • Sri Lankan Tours and Holidays understands the importance of protecting your privacy. Any information we collect from you may be used for any purpose associated with delivering our tour products. From time to time, we may have to pass your details on to our agents, service providers or other suppliers to enable us to deliver our service. We educate our staff about the National Privacy Principles and Privacy Act requirements.

  • 9. Health and medical requirements

  • Due to the vast distances travelled on tour, we may be many hours away from medical facilities.

  • You and your agent are responsible for declaring any known medical condition(s) at the time of booking. Sri Lankan Tours and Holidays reserves the right to request additional information and/or medical clearance (at your own expense) before confirming your reservation.

  • Upon joining a tour, Sri Lankan Tours and Holidays require you to re-confirm any medical condition(s) to your guide, and enough medication should be carried for the duration of your tour (cold storage is available).
  • Regarding health and safety, Sri Lankan Tours and Holidays reserves the right to refuse travel due to any medical conditions and/or fitness level we deem necessary. Sri Lankan Tours and Holidays will not be liable for any additional expenses or cancellation fees imposed by ourselves or third parties due to refusal to travel due to non-disclosure.

  • We recommend you discuss medical or fitness concerns with our staff before booking.

  • It is the travellers' duty to obtain necessary travel insurance for all travellers.
  • 10. Dietary Requirements & Food Allergies
  • All Sri Lankan Tours and Holidays menus are designed to be well-balanced and healthy to provide the necessary sustenance to enjoy and participate in your tour. If you have any food allergies or specific dietary needs, don't hesitate to get in touch with Sri Lankan Tours and Holidays to discuss these requirements, and we will advise you if they can be catered for. As we operate in remote parts of Australia, certain foods are not always readily available. We may have to substitute our menus as supply dictates. Therefore, we cannot guarantee all ingredients contained in these alternatives. In these instances, Sri Lankan Tours and Holidays will advise you to provide your supplementary food/snacks, depending on your specific requirements.

  • 11. Change of itinerary

  • Sri Lankan Tours and Holidays reserves the right to amend or alter tour times, itineraries, and fares for its products as circumstances, weather, road conditions, time of year, and operational reasons occur. Any personal expenses incurred due to any delays or alterations of any tours, whether caused by mechanical failure, accident, weather or any other unforeseen circumstances, is your responsibility. We cannot guarantee exact pick-up and drop-off times and will accept no responsibility in the event of cancellation fees from other connecting services.
  • 12. Acceptance of risk

  • Sri Lanka has many dangerous creatures, extreme weather conditions and often varying terrain. Camping, hiking and passing the time outside may increase your risk of exposure to these dangers. Safety is Sri Lankan Tours and Holidays' number one priority, and all our guides are highly trained to ensure passenger safety at all times.

  • All passengers participating in Sri Lankan Tours and Holidays tours do so at their own risk. Sri Lankan Tours and Holidays can accept no responsibility for any loss, damage, delay, injury, or accident sustained whilst travelling with us. All passengers must sign and acknowledge these Terms and Conditions before departure, admitting that they know the increased risks associated with adventure travel.   • The minimum age for children travelling with Sri Lankan Tours and Holidays is eight (8) years (unless agreed differently, directly with Sri Lankan Tours and Holidays at the time of booking) at the time of travel. An adult or caregiver must always accompany all passengers under eighteen (18) years of age. While all care is taken, the responsibility of children on tour rests entirely with the parent or caregiver. All passengers, including children, must wear shoes at all times, use sunblock and wear hats. (Children under the age of 8 will have to sit on a booster seat provided by passengers or upon request by Sri Lankan Tours and Holidays)

  • 13. Limitation of liability

  • We contract with a network of third-party companies and individuals to assist in operating our tours. Sri Lankan Tours and Holidays works with the best operators available but takes no responsibility for any act of neglect by any operator whose services are used as part of your tour. Our suppliers make every effort to safeguard clients, and we cannot be held responsible for personal injury or sickness to any customer beyond our control. Passengers should note that adventure travel involves a higher-than-normal risk, and a signed release may be required from all participants from some of our activity providers.

  • 14. Authority on tour

  • Sri Lankan Tours and Holidays prides itself on the very high standard of our guides. Alice Holiday Tours is an Accredited tourism operator based in the Northern Territory. All guides have a sound knowledge of the local area, focusing on its history, Aboriginal culture, geology and the natural environment.

  • Passengers must always follow the tour guide's instructions and directions, particularly regarding actions and behaviour in National Park areas, Aboriginal communities, and areas with elevated hazards, risks, and emergencies. Non-compliance with directions from the tour guide or other authority may result in the passengers being refused onward travel with no right to refund.

  • 15. Photos & marketing

  • You consent to Sri Lankan Tours and Holidays using images of you taken during the tour for advertising and other promotional purposes in any medium we require. You agree that using these images is without recourse or compensation to you.

  • 16. Smoking

  • Government regulations prohibit smoking, including e-cigarettes, inside tour vehicles and all public places within Sri Lanka. You should restrict smoking in vehicles and public areas.

  • 17. Applicable law

  • All tour operations are carried out in the jurisdiction of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka and govern all regulations and laws. Any disputes concerning a tour or these Terms and Conditions must be initiated in the district courts of The respective district of Sri Lanka.
  • 18. Updating terms and conditions and the conditions of travel

  • Sri Lankan Tours and Holidays reserves the right to update and/or alter travel conditions and fine print at any time. It is the agents' and passengers’ responsibility to be familiar with the most up-to-date travel conditions, which are available on our website.
